Currently, trampoline parks are in a period of hot investment. For many people looking to invest in trampoline parks, choosing the right venue is of utmost importance. So, where are the best locations for trampoline parks? What are the requirements for the internal structure and height of the venue?
Key Considerations Before Selecting a Location for a Trampoline Park:
I. Hardware Requirements for Trampoline Park Venue Selection
Ceiling Height:
Tip: To ensure an optimal customer experience, it is advisable to select a venue with a height of at least 7 meters (depending on the projects planned).
For trampoline parks specifically targeting children, a clear height of 4.2 meters or above is recommended. Venues with a height below 4 meters are not advisable.
For trampoline parks targeting adults, a clear height of 6 meters or above is recommended. The minimum acceptable height can be relaxed to 5.2 meters, with a beam height preferably 4.8 meters or above (accounting for space taken up by pipelines and other installations).
Since modern trampoline parks typically feature comprehensive projects, venues larger than 1,000 square meters often include attractions like extreme slides, requiring local clear heights of 7 meters or above. Therefore, a venue with an overall clear height of 5.2 meters or above and local heights of 7 meters or above is ideal, as it accommodates all age groups and allows for high-demand projects.
Venue Shape:
Rectangular venues are optimal for maximizing space utilization, as equipment frames are typically square. Irregularly shaped venues, such as circular or other non-standard shapes, are not recommended.
Flooring and Pillars:
The venue floor should be level, with concrete floors being ideal. The fewer pillars, the better, and pillar spacing should be as wide as possible (preferably no less than 6 meters) to facilitate project design and space utilization.
Safety Exits:
Trampoline venues should have no fewer than two safety exits, ideally including an independent entrance/exit. In high-rise commercial buildings, an independent entrance/exit is mandatory. Fire exits must remain unobstructed.
If located in a shopping mall, the venue should be placed on the first to third floors. Locations in underground malls or parking garages are strictly prohibited.
II. Trampoline Park Positioning and Area
Before investing, it is essential to define the target audience—whether children aged 3–14 or adults. The size of the trampoline park should align with the target demographic and the available venue area.
III. Essential Market Research
While trampoline parks are currently popular and offer high returns on investment, conducting thorough market research is crucial. Understanding the competition and local market dynamics is key to success.
Market research should include:
Demographics, income levels, economic conditions, and spending power in the surrounding commercial area.
The operational performance of nearby competitors.
Identifying unique advantages of the proposed trampoline park.
IV. Recommended Locations for Trampoline Parks
Trampoline park venues are ideally situated in high-traffic or central locations such as downtown areas, commercial hubs, or busy districts. Convenient transportation and proximity to schools, residential areas, commercial complexes, training centers, kindergartens, early education centers, entertainment venues, or tourist attractions (where younger populations are concentrated) are advantageous.
Common venue options include:
Commercial Centers
Advantages: High foot traffic, low promotional costs.
Disadvantages: High rent, limited space and ceiling height, restricted by mall regulations, challenges in managing operating hours and logistics.
Renovated Factories, Warehouses, or Steel-Frame Buildings
Advantages: Large area, suitable ceiling height, low rent, customizable renovations, potential for creating comprehensive trampoline-themed parks.
Disadvantages: Remote locations, limited foot traffic, high promotional costs.
Shopping Mall Atriums
Advantages: High foot traffic, flexible height requirements.
Disadvantages: Limited space, challenges in time management and on-site operations.
Renovated Sports and Cultural Venues
(e.g., stadiums, badminton halls, tennis courts)
Advantages: Large area, suitable ceiling height, complete facilities, well-structured layout.
Disadvantages: High rent.
Resort Hotels or Scenic Areas
Advantages: Existing visitor flow, easier marketing and management.
Disadvantages: Limited space and ceiling height, restrictions on project design.
